Profile: Amber was a student at a Las Vegas university in a promising path towards an archaeological career when she happened across an unfortunate incident at a dig. She and her class were excavating a site in the Nevada desert when she unearthed some kind of odd artifact, accidentally setting it off. A searing white light enveloped her and changed her--she only had a brief glimpse of her classmates staring in shock before everything went black. When she came to, she was in an unfamiliar location, and with unfamiliar sensations coursing through her. She looked down at herself to see long claws where her fingernails once were. Over her shoulders she found large, leathery, bat-like wings. The shock of all this was too much for her, and she went somewhat insane--becoming mentally the creature she had physically turned into. She lashed out at anything and everything she came across, soon becoming known as a force of terror in the unfamiliar land. Over time she learned to use her new features appropriately, and is just now becoming aware of some limited magical ability bestowed upon her.
