Kasey puts on her Basic outfit.

	The young lady catches your glance and smiles in your direction
as you size her up, her green eyes shining. Kasey is about five foot six
inches tall, and weighs a little over a hundred and thirty pounds. (What
she puts down officially is another story entirely. :)) Her fiery yet
dark red hair cascades down to a point just above her waist. Last but
not least, her overall figure is well formed, indicating she works out
on a regular basis.
	Right now, Kasey wears a plain old pair of blue jeans, a
weathered pair of hiking boots, a grey T-shirt, and a grey leather
jacket overtop of the shirt.

Pinky turns off the Tv and says,"Come in!"

Kasey comes walking in and waves joyously. "HI! Guess what?"

Pinky says, "Hmmmmmm....what?"

Kasey gestures to her leg.

Kasey says, "See? See? Huh?"

Kasey hops around on one foot.

Pinky says, "Oh! It's off! Great!"

Pinky says, "You arn't a cripple any more!"

Kasey grins. "I went to the hospital and had it taken care of last
night. And BOY does it feel better!"

Kasey comes in and sits down.

Pinky says, "So how long did you scractch it last night?"

Pinky smiles.

Kasey laughs. "I stuck it in a tub of hot water and let it sit for a
couple hours. That took care of that."

Kasey says, "I did it last night so I could be with Jay for a while
while he was at work.. didn't turn out that way." She made a face. "He
was out right until shift change and then only got back to the hospital
for a minute before he had to go back downtown."

Pinky says, "Ew. The life of a ..um..he's a parametic right?"

Kasey says, "Yeah! He got a job with the City fire department last week.
I might've forgotten to tell you that. ^_^"

Pinky says, "That's great! That's a job that you can be sure they'll
always need people for. Nice Steady work. Of course it is an on call 24
hours a day job."

Kasey says, "He works 12 hour shifts.. actually, he went back today,
just before supper. He grumps about the all-nighters, but he loves the
stuff he gets to see and experience."

Pinky says, "Ah don't let him fool you, he probably loves grumping about
them too."

Kasey laughs.

Pinky says, "You looking for a job too?"

Kasey says, "Yeah, I'm starting to wonder. Now he's moved back into his
own apartment, and I'm without my parents' bottomless money pit, I need
to start making up some way of paying for my place. That, or, go on an
adventure and strike it rich.. wish I could luck into them like Gina
does.."

Pinky says, "I hear Gina has her dry spells too. And she was pretty
broke when she started out. Her and her sis got to their first site as
stoways abord some plan. And Brit's told me that sometimes they barely
break even on great finds when you consider all the wild goose chases
they follow."

Kasey shrugs.

Kasey says, "It averages out, I bet.."

Kasey says, "So, what're we gonna do for supper?"

Pinky says, "I was just gonna heat me up a TV dinner but, you wanna go
check out some of the resturants around here?"

There's a knock at the door.

Kasey shrugs.

There's another knock at the door.

Kasey says, "'Zat someone at your door?"

Pinky says, "I guess so..COME IN!"

The door opens and a guy in a pizza driver's uniform is there with a
large pizza. "Free pizza night, ma'am. Compliments of Pizza-X."

Pinky stands up and raises an eyebrow,"Free pizza night?"

The guy stands there holding the pizza. His face is covered by his
ballcap and he wears a big white jumpsuit covering the rest of him.
"Yes, we give out free pizzas to selected customers once a week. You're
selected this week, Ms. Carter."

Pinky says, "But I've never ordedred from you before..."

The guy holds out the pizza box. Big "X" stamped on the lid.

Pinky gives Kasey a LOOK.

The guy says, "This is just a way we like to invite people to start
ordering from us." He smiles.

Kasey says, "Take it! I'm starving!"

Pinky says, "Riiight...can I see it before I accept it please?"

The guy nods, and opens the lid, yup, it's a pizza. Piping hot. smells
awesome.

Pinky blinks.

Pinky says, "Okay..thank you very much....."

Pinky she reaches out to take the pizza.

The guy hands it over and walks away.

Kasey grabs a slice as you walk past. "Gimmegimme!"

Kasey says, "Mmmmmm...... Yu goff anyfing to wash dis down wif?"

Pinky says, "Suuure.."

Kasey stops eating. "uh oh."

Kasey looks scared.

Pinky walks to the kitchen."Mountain dew or Crab Soda?"

Kasey says, "oh shit.."

Pinky looks at Kase,"What is it?"

Kasey says, "Twenty goddamn years of nothing and NOW it acts up again.."

Kasey appears to be having trouble breathing.

Kasey says, "Kuh.. call.. 911.. allergic.. huh.. huh.. huh..."

Kasey gets up and RUNS towards the bathroom.

Pinky says, "Kase!? What is it?!"

Pinky picks up the phone and dials.

Bleep bloop bloop.

Kasey makes it about halfway there and falls to her knees, struggling to
get breath.

Dispatcher says, "9-1-1 Emergency. For what service?"

Kasey is curled up on the floor, a wheezing/whistling sound from her
now. She looks to be swelling up in the face and throat.

Pinky says, "the paramedics! My friend ate a piece of pizza and said
someting about allergies. ANd now she is on the floor swelling up on her
face and throat!"

Dispatcher gets Pinky's address, tells her the ambulance is already on
the way, and gets info about Kasey: Age, sex, what she ate, where she is
now, if she's conscious and breathing. Have the door open for the
paramedics when they arrive.

Kasey is still making that wheezing, whistling noise, so she's moving
*some* air.

Pinky opens the door up and races back Kasey and kneels by her. "Okay
you can breath THAT's good."

Kasey nods. "Allergy.. seafood.." She's only able to get one syllable
out every three breaths or so.

Jay comes in from the courtyard.

Jay has arrived.

Jay and his partner come in. "Oh shit! What happened!"

Kasey keeps wheezing.

Pinky says, "She ate a piece of pizza."

Pinky says, "Must have been some thing on it thou, but..seafood on
pizza?!"

Jay says, "Kase! Are you choking?"

Kasey shakes her head violently no.

Pinky goes and gets, "The Pizza!"

Jay says, "Has she ever told you she was allergic?"

Pinky says, "She was able to get out someting about allerys out."

Pinky says, "Nope, she hasn't ever mintioned it."

Jay's partner sets up an IV and gets on the radio to the hospital for
orders for Epi.

Jay says, "Hang on Kase, we're gonna help you.."

Jay keeps muttering "shit" under his breath.

Jay's partner says, "That didn't help. Let's move."

Jay nods and runs out for the stretcher.

Jay comes back with the stretcher and his partner and he lift Kasey onto
it in a big ol' hurry.

Jay says, "You comin', Dani?"

Pinky says, "Yeap!"

Jay says, "Bring that thing with you."

Jay nods at the 'za.

You head back outside.

Eastview Apartments Courtyard(#125RntJ)

	You're standing in the parking lot/courtyard of the Eastview
apartment complex. It looks to be an old motel converted into long-term
living spaces. The building is shaped in a U around the parking
lot/courtyard, with the ends of the legs of the U facing the street. The
old motel offices have been converted into a laundromat, and the motel
rooms are of course apartments now, with the first floor accessible from
the parking lot, and the second floor from a balcony that wraps around
the inner edge of the building.

Jay loads Kasey into the ambulance and gets in the back. His partner
points Dani to the front passenger seat.

Pinky emerges with the pizza and gets in teh ambulance.

Jay has left.

Jay gets into the ambulance.

You get into the ambulance.

Ambulance

	The interior of the ambulance is jammed with all sorts of
equipment. In back, there's a cot fixed to the floor, a bench on the
right side, a rear-facing seat on the left side just in front of the
cot, and a seat along the left wall about halfway along the cot. The
rest of the back is taken up with compartments, machinery, and so on.

	Up front, the cab is crowded by a large instrument console in
the middle with radios and switches and siren drivers, and a large red
and white sign on the dash reading "NO SMOKING - OXYGEN EQUIPPED".

Pinky gets in.

Jay's partner backs out onto the street and heads for the hospital
lights & sirens.

Jay starts working on Kasey, continuing to mutter profanities at
himself.

Kasey keeps trying to breathe, but is only able to get a little bit in
each time.

Pinky shakes her head and LOOOOKS at the pizza.

Pinky mutters to herself, "Mental... with..."

Jay says, "Hon.. I gotta 'tube ya. That means you gotta be out."

Jay calls for orders for sedatives and meds to do Rapid Sequence
Intubation.

Jay's partner explains to Pinky, "Whatever's wrong with your friend,
it's not anaphylactic -- allergic. So don't handle that pizza too much.
The docs will want to check it out."

Jay's partner says, "I'm sorry, I know you don't need to hear that.. but
I'd rather not end up with a second patient."

Jay says, "Roy, I need five seconds here to run a tube."

Kasey is now unconscious.

GAME: Gina's Lab Computer says, "Database save in T minus 60 seconds."

Jay inserts the tube with great difficulty and starts to breathe for
Kasey.

Jay says, "Get movin'!"

Pinky has it kept in the box all nice and closed.

Jay's partner tears off towards Northside Hospital again.

	East Atlanta, a pleasant suburban street.

	Sparse crowds of pedestrians are moving along the bright cement
sidewalks. Nearby are a large bank, a large grocery store, a fancy
restaurant, and the Atlanta Zoo.

Northside Hospital

	Northside on the inside looks very much like every other
hospital: Wide, clean corridors with lots of people to'ing and fro'ing,
a large nurses' station, a spacious waiting area in the emergency
department, and several floors of emergency care beds, operating
theaters, and other rooms typical to a hospital.

Pinky has arrived.

Pinky rushes after the peoples clutching the box.

Jay stands in the emergency ward, leaning against a post, head in his hands.

Kasey is wheeled to an exam room, no SOs or friends or medics allowed.

Jay is there leaning against a post in the emerg lobby, head in his hands.

Pinky walks to Jay Pizza box in hands. Muttering,"crap crap crap crap
crap crap" the whole way there.

Jay mumbles, "Sorry, I don't take personal calls very well.."

A nurse takes the pizza after they hear what it's about.

Pinky says, "I woudlnt' expect you to. *she shakes her head* this whole
this is my fault...*she says as the pizza is carried off.*"

Pinky says, "I KNEW somethign was up with that pizza..."

Jay says, "What the hell happened? Start from the beginning."

Pinky says, "Kase came over and we were talking, then this guy knocked
at the door."

Pinky says, "He said I had a free pizza delivery. I was suspsicous but
Kase wanted the pizza so bad I just took it..."

Pinky shakes her head."Next time I go with my gut."

Pinky says, "And not hers..."

Jay's radio squawks, "1982, clear of D4 yet?"

Jay turns it off.

Jay says, "Free pizzas? Damn, you were set up."

Pinky says, "Yes I was."

Pinky says, "I should have turned him away...DAMN IT!"

A nurse calls Jason over.

Jay says, "Hang on."

Pinky tumps the post.

Jay talks to the nurse.

Jay comes back.

Jay says, "I think you're gonna need to talk to the cops."

Pinky says, "Well? The find out what's up with the pizza?"

Jay says, "They found traces of rat poison sprinkled all over that
pizza. Looks like Parmesan cheese. And in some people, mimics an
allergic reaction."

Jay says, "It was a really potent rat poison.. if you'd waited another
ninety seconds.. well.."

Jay shrugs.

<Connect> Keorin has connected.

Pinky groans and babs her head on the post then leans on it.

Jay says, "Who would want to kill you?"

Pinky says, "Myself personlly..I can't think of anyone after Danielle
Carter.."

Jay says, "So you think it was random? Was there anything to suggest it
wasn't?"

Roy comes over and says quietly as he walks past, "I booked us off for
the night."

Jay nods thanks.

Pinky eyes go wide and she slams a hand on her forehead.

Roy leaves and gets into the ambulance.

Pinky .oO(But Genn earsed it from there memorys!)

Pinky says, "He did mention me by name..."

Pinky says, "Ms. Carter.."

Jay says, "Seems like someone doesn't like you."

Pinky says, "You don't think it might be connected to that thing with
Ryan do you?"

Pinky mutters to herself.

Jay shrugs.

Jay says, "I guess it could be.. anything's possible in this world."

Estian has arrived.

Jay is talking quietly to Pinky in the emergency waiting room.

Estian comes into the building, just seeing an ambulance come here a
while ago to check it out

	He is a were-leopard, his body covered in the were-leopards spot
patter. He is tall and slender, but muscular at the same time. He wears
a blue tank top, and blue drawstring pants. His hair is a coppery-red
color, which falls just below his sholders. He carries a long woden
stalf, and many pouches.

Jay says, "So.. what're you gonna do? Do you think you should go back
home?"

Pinky says, "Yeah, and I have somethign to tell you when we get there."

Kasey gets wheeled up to ICU.

An ED doc comes out to the waiting room.

Doc seeks out Jay and Pinky, and finds them, then ushers them into a
Quiet Room.

Doc says, "She's going to be okay."

Doc says, "She has to get her stomach pumped, and she will need to be
observed for 24, maybe 36 hours.. but there shouldn't be any lasting
effects."

Jay sighs with relief.

Pinky does too,"Thank god."

Doc says, "You were the one with the pizza?"

Pinky nods,"Yes, sir."

Doc says, "The police will probably be asking you a few questions.. this
is a poisoning case, and it may go to attempted murder if they can prove
that your friend could've died. And I can, with the labs on her."

Doc says, "In any case, she's going to be okay. Visiting hours tomorrow
are from 11 to 4. Good work in getting her here so fast."

Doc slaps both your knees and gets up to leave.

Jay gets up.

Jay says, "Thanks, Doc."

Pinky stands up,"Thannk you."

Jay says, "C'mon. Let's get Roy to take us home."

Jay leads Pinky out to the ambulance.

Pinky heads out with Jay.

Estian looks towards the voice he thought that he recognised, and jogs
over.

Jay walks towards the ambulance bay, leading Pinky out.

Estian says, "Jay?.... is that you?"

Jay looks up.

Jay says, "Oh, hi.. umm.. sorry, I'm rotten with names, especially now.
Estian, right?"

Pinky says "Hey." and waves but she seems quite preoccuipied.

Estian says, "Correct. Somehow I ended up in here. I overheard you
talking a bit there with the Doctor... is someone you know hurt?"

Jay gives Pinky a squeeze. "She's gonna be ok. Don't worry."

Jay nods..

Jay says, "My SO, Kasey. She got.. um.. sick. Really sick, really fast."

Estian 's face goes pale

Estian says, "oh no................."

Jay steps aside to let another crew move a patient in from the ambulance
bays.

Pinky says, "She's fine now thou."

Jay says, "She'll be okay."

Jay says, "They said we can visit tomorrow over the lunch hour.."

Jay damns. "I'm working.. I'll have to sneak an hour off at lunch."

Estian says, "Would it be ok if I visit tomorow? She was so nice to me
when I first got here. If it is not too much trouble....."

Jay says, "I don't think she'd mind."

Jay smiles.

Pinky says, "I'm sure she'll love as many vistors as possible."

Jay says, "For now, we have to go.. see you tomorrow?"

Estian nods

Jay nods and walks with Pinky out to the ambulance.

Jay has left.

Pinky has left.

Estian wanders around the hospital a bit, helping those who he can with
his minor healing capabilities

The docs kinda look funny at this guy, but are too busy to have security
boot him out.

Estian gets hungry, and heads to the cafeteria, and polishes off all the
mystery meat

Occasionally a plane can be seen and heard passing overhead. Nearby are
the airport, a large hospital, a massive Marriott hotel by the airport,
and a police station.

Roy supplies, "Not often you see something that presents like
anaphylaxis but doesn't respond to the treatment. I was a little
surprised too."

Jay looks at the mess he and Roy left on the floor.. IV bag wrappers..
gloves.. and goes to clean it up.

Jay cleans up all the mess and comes back into the living room.

Pinky is sitting on the living room couch head in her hands.

Jay sits down across from her in the chair. "She's gonna be all right, I
tell you. Take it easy. It wasn't your fault."

Pinky says, "I'm not going to second guess myself. I've learned that's

Pinky says, "Question, you ever hear of a superhero in New York called
the Pink Avenger?"

Jay says, "Yeah! I saw her on the news about 3 nights ago.. er, whatever
night you didn't come over.."

Pinky smiles.

You can see the gears s-l-o-w-l-y starting to turn in his head.

Pinky says, "I'll be riiiiiiight back."

Pinky walks off into the bed room.

Jay sits there and watches her go.

Avenger leaves the bedroom.

Avenger walks out into the living room area thingy.

Jay looks up, and blinks.

	You see a rather pretty young woman. She is slender and has
blond hair that hangs to her shoulders. Her eyes can't be seen because
of the mask she has covering the top half of her face.

	She wearing a rather standard pair of pants with a belt and a
long sleeved shirt. The interesting parts of her outfit are her knee
length boots complete with hard metallic looking knee pads, her gloves
that come to just before her elbows and then flare out, a cape that
falls to knee level, and an interesting Indiana Jones hat perched on her
head. She also has a pack cliped to her belt and a sash that appears to
be made of a bunch of little pouches. The other major point of interest
concerning her costume is that it is all pink.

Jay says, "Are you.."

Jay says, "Are you SERIOUS?"

Jay stands up.

Avenger takes off her mask.

Jay says, "You didn't just go rent that somewhere?"

Avenger says, "Hey, youse."

Avenger says, "Nope."

Jay says, "Holy crap.."

Jay looks at you in a different way now.

Jay says, "You're.. the same one that was.. I never would've believed it."

Avenger drops MEGA HAMMER OF JUSTICE!!.

It's a giant hammer like object. It is basically a staff with a giant
boomerang shape iron wieght on the top. All together it is about 3'
long. One more thing, it's color is metallic pink.

Jay buh-links again.

Avenger twrils her hammer around.

Jay says, "Wow.. you did a good job of keeping it secret.. I never
would've guessed."

Avenger smiles,"That means I'm doing a good job."

Avenger's smile fades,"Excpet..that pizza..must mean I sliped up
SOMEWHERE.."

Jay says, "So do I get to still call you Dani or do I need to say Ms.
Carter now? Or Avenger? Or do I get to be with you at all any more?"

Avenger babs you on the head with her hammer.

Jay says, "That's right.. someone must know about you. OW!"

Jay says, "Wow.. this sure is something."

Avenger heh's and disappers back into the bed room.

Jay calls out, "You must have an easy time at Hallowe'en. You already
have your costume."

Pinky comes back into the living room.

	You see a rather pretty young woman. She is slender and has
blond hair that hangs to her shoulders. Her eyes are a startingly vivid
shade of deep blue.

	She is wearing a pale pink t-shirt with a picture of hello kitty
on it, a pair of very light, very tight blue jeans, and a pair of black
velvet boots.

Pinky says, "Oh shut up you.:)"

Jay says, "I'm sure that's not for public knowledge, either, right?"

Pinky says, "You'd better belive it."

Jay says, "That's why you waited till we were out of earshot of Roy..?"

Jay nods.

Jay says, "What about Kase?"

Jay says, "She almost died 'cause of it tonight, you know.."

Jay says, "She deserves the truth."

Pinky says, "I'm going to tell Kasey as soon as she's well."

Pinky says, "I might staple her lips shut afterwards but I'm going to
tell her."

Jay says, "She can keep a secret.. trust me.."

Jay seems to be not saying everything.

Pinky hmmms at Jay.

Jay huhs?

Jay says, "Okay, okay, I guess you're owed a secret, since you showed me
one of yours.."

Jay says, "She probably told you I moved back into my place?"

Pinky says, "Yeah today,she told me."

Jay shakes his head. "It's a half-truth. I did, but we knocked out the
wall between her place and mine."

Pinky oooooooooooooohs!

Jay says, "So, we're, uh.. kinda.. together now, more or less."

Jay says, "Another reason why I was so upset over what happened
tonight."

Pinky says, "I could sorta tell, but I wasn't sure. So I wasn't goiing
to say anything."

Jay says, "So... what do you do now? Do you vanish for 3 days and we
hear on the news that Avenger put down another crime spree? Or are you
going to let me.. us.. help you.. or Avenger, or whoever is taking care
of it.. on this?"

Pinky says, "Since Kase got hurt by this...I didn't think I could talk
you 2 OUT OF helping soooo sure come along."

Pinky says, "You have to promise me that'll becarefull thou. Follow MY
lead."

Jay nods and offers up a smile. "Uh.. sure, I promise." He shakes his
head a little with another smile. "Don't take this the wrong way.. but
doing something with Dani, it's like we're working with a friend.. doing
something with the Avenger.. it's going to be like we're taking orders
from a goddess."

Jay says, "What I'm saying is, you do such a good job disguising your
abilities.. no one would.. er, should.. have ever guessed you were her.
You don't take a leadership role in your civilian life."

Jay says, "I'm digging myself into a grave with every word, aren't I?"

Jay decides to shut up now.

Pinky says, "I like to go off-duty as much as the next person. And yes
but since you watched your girlfriend pratically croak tonight I'll let
you live."

Pinky says, "Probably."

Jay smiles tentatively.

Jay says, "On that note, then, I will retreat to my own personal
bat-cave."

Jay says, "Andletyougotoyours :)"

Pinky says, "See you in the morning, wanna go vist Kase together?"

Jay says, "Sure. I'll drive."

Jay smiles.

Pinky says, "And rememeber Not a WORD at the hospital."

Jay puts his hand on the doorknob. "Unless, of course, you can FLY us
there or something." He grins, then goes serious. "Listen.. you can
trust me. No one will ever know by my word. There are secrets I've kept
for 27 years."

Pinky blinks, then says,"I figured I could":)

Jay says, "I'll see you in the morning."

	This apartment is different from the others. It seems to
originally have been two apartments, but the center dividing wall has
been knocked out, and now there is one large space where there once was
two. A bit of renovations have gone on inside, too, leaving the place
basically as one large apartment. There are still two closets, one at
each door. The one by the door to 102 holds Jay's coats, jackets,
runners, uniforms, and work boots, while the one closer to 103's door
has Kasey's outerwear and footwear in it. The living room sports a
nice-looking couch, a large-screen TV and high-quality entertainment
center, and a comfortable chair, all arrayed around a smallish coffee
table. The kitchen has the usual, a sink, stove, fridge/freezer, and
microwave, along with some countertop and cupboards. The bedroom is
larger than in most of the single apartments, with a double-size bed
taking up most of the space, flanked by two night tables. The ensuite
bathroom has a sink, shower stall, tub, toilet, and another counter with
a mirror behind it, appears to be used as a makeup table.

	Northside on the inside looks very much like every other
hospital: Wide, clean corridors with lots of people to'ing and fro'ing,
a large nurses' station, a spacious waiting area in the emergency
department, and several floors of emergency care beds, operating
theaters, and other rooms typical to a hospital.

Pinky says, "What room is she in?"

Jay says, "Lemme check."

Jay comes back. "V283."

Jay heads for the elevator, for the 2nd floor.

Pinky follows since Jay knows this place MUCH better than her.

Jay takes Pinky up in the elevator and enters room V283, a semi-private
room, with four beds separated by curtains. Kasey is in bed D, nearest
the outside wall. She's looking out the window at the looooovely view of
the helipad right now.

Pinky says, "Hi Kase!"

Pinky runs up to her bed.

Kasey blinks and turns over and smiles faintly. "Hiya," she croaks.

Jay walks up to the bedside.

Pinky says, "You feeling better?"

Kasey answers hoarsely, "I feel like I been throwing up all night, and
my throat is on fire, but they say I can go anytime." She smiles.

Jay says, "Hey, you."

Jay squeezes her hand.

Kasey squeezes back.

Kasey says, "Never had an allergic reaction like THIS before.."

Pinky says, "Er..they didn't tell you?"

Jay looks at Pinky, then Kasey.

Kasey says, "Tell me what?"

Pinky says, "That was NO allergic reaction."

Jay explains all about the tainted pizza.

Kasey says, "....but who would wanna do that?"

Jay ers.. then shuts up.

Pinky says, "Dunno really."

Pinky says, "We can talk 'bout this more when we get 'cha back home
thou."

Kasey grins and says with a crackly dry throat, "The magic words."

Kasey tries to get herself out of bed, and it goes slowly.

Jay retrieves a wheelchair.

Pinky says, "Back in the wheelchair again!"

Pinky says, "Poor youse."

Kasey yeah, yeahs.

Kasey sits down.

Jay wheels her out of the room and out to the nurses' station, where she
has to sign out.

Kasey says, "I still can't believe someone would want to poison you.."

Kasey says, "I mean, I presume it was meant for you.. it came to your
place.."

Pinky says, "I know, I find it hard to belive too.."

Kasey starts up a coughing fit.

Kasey says, "Ugh..."

Estian has connected.

Kasey says, "I need about a zillion Tylenols.."

Pinky says, "Just go for the striaght morphin then."

Kasey says, "I guess I have noone to blame but myself for this.. after
all, it's not like you had X-ray vision to see the bad stuff on the
pizza.."

Estian wanders around aimlessly for where Jay said Kasey would be
yesterday.

Kasey and Jay and Pinky are at the nurses' station, signing the former
out.

Jay says, "Okay, done and paid for. Let's go."

Estian finaly see's them at the end of a hall, and walks down it towards
them

Jay says, "And don't you get up. You know the rules: Insurance sez you
gotta be wheeled out, even if you can run."

Pinky says, "You think you can walk Kase?"

Kasey says, "Oh yeah, sure I can. It's just the pipes that're rusty. And
a big ol' bottle of Dew will solve that."

Jay says, "Oh, hi, Est.. just in time."

Kasey looks up.

Kasey waves at Estian with a smile.

Pinky ews.

Kasey says, "What?"

Pinky says, "Moutain dew, made from the residue of the other sodas."

Estian smiles back "Hi Kasey, are you ok now?"

Kasey says, "Hey, I don't insult your crab cola or whatever you called
it."

Kasey says very hoarsely, "I'm not doin' too bad, Estian, but I have a
really sore throat."

Estian says, "I'd try to help, but sometimes my medicine reacts badly
with your type of Doctors Medicine, sorry."

Kasey says, "I'll be okay.. eventually.."

Pinky says, "Right now we just need to get you home."

Kasey says, "Why would she do that? I thought she was a champion of
good, defender of the people, an' all that.."

Pinky says, "Jay...bab her for me."

Jay says, "Kase, are you still on painkillers?"

Pinky says with her hand over her face.

Jay says, "Just watch, Kase. Things're gonna come clear in a few seconds

Jay just shushes her and indicates she should wait.

Avenger says, "Get it NOW?"

Kasey looks up at Avenger. "Puh.. please forgive me! If I'd known, I
would've acted so differently around you.. you're a master.."

Avenger drums her finers on her hammer.

Avenger then babs Kase lightly on the head with it.

Kasey says, "owie!"

Jay says, "Get up, Kase. C'mon. Geez."

Jay pulls Kasey back into the chair.

Avenger says, "Now, you'd better not act any diffenrtaly!"

Avenger takes off her mask.

Avenger says, "Or I'll be very upset^^"

Kasey says, "But.. but.. you're a superhero.. I'm just a nobody.."

Avenger says, "I'm not JUST a superhero."

Avenger says, "I do other things too^^"

Kasey says, "Oh.. okay.. so, uh.. so.. what next?"

Jay says, "That's what I asked too."

Avenger says, "We need to find out WHO did that."

Avenger says, "Think about it."

Avenger says, "That pizza was for Ms. Dannille Carter."

Jay says, "So they know who you are."

Avenger says, "Ethier it was one HELL of a conicidnece."

Kasey gasps!

Avenger says, "OR they know who I am."

Kasey says, "I thought you kept that a secret!"

Avenger looks at Jay,"Can I strangle her, PLEASE?"

Jay says, "No, no.. I need her. She's smart most of the time. Must be
the drugs."

Kasey says, "Sorry.. I'm just a little stunned.. I mean..
this"--gestures to your outfit--"is a HUGE surprise.."

Avenger says, "And it's supposed to be:)"

Kasey says, "It worked. Believe me.. it worked.."

Jay says, "So, Avenger.. where do we begin?"

Avenger pulls her mask back on.

Avenger says, "Well.."

Jay says, "Are you gonna investigate? Anything we can do? I wonder if
anyone else saw that guy delivering the pizza."

Avenger says, "Not sure..."

Kasey says, "Uh... who was that group you fought in the city a couple years back?"

Avenger says, "Syndacate X."

Kasey thinks she's on to something

Avenger is quite as the gears are turning.

Kasey says, "Aaaaaand what did the guy call the pizza place he was
delivering for? Where's that box?"

Avenger says, "I think that pizza was from them."

Avenger says, "The question is...WHERE are they?"

Avenger says, "Sorry if I don't talk much guys."

Avenger says, "Used to working by myself latly."

Avenger says, "Now that Crush and Victor aren't out there with me..."

Jay nods. "Understandable." He grins. "You gonna be able to take on two
lowly sidekicks?"

Avenger says, "I suppose, yes."

Avenger smiles.

Avenger says, "Come on it's time for some work outta unifrom."

Avenger goes into the bedroom again and Pinky exits.

Kasey says, "Okay.."

Pinky says, "We need to see if anybody saw where the pizza truck whent."

Kasey says, "So.. I'm just curious.. do you have, like, a whooooole
closet of that outfit?"

Kasey smiles.

Pinky says, "Es a secret^^"

Kasey says, "Oh come on.. you told us this much.."

Kasey says, "Surely you can't wear the same outfit every day. You MUST
have a bunch of 'em."

Kasey satisfies herself with her own answer.

Kasey says, "All right, let's go see. Hey! Isn't there a little robot in
the courtyard all the time!"

Jay says, "We could go check the cams.."

Pinky says, "Cams?"

Jay says, "Yeah, the security cameras in the manager's suite. She left
me her key."

Pinky says, "There's a REAL manger?!^^ Sure lets go check it out."

Kasey heads outside.

apartment complex. It looks to be an old motel converted into long-term
living spaces. The building is shaped in a U around the parking
lot/courtyard, with the ends of the legs of the U facing the street. The
old motel offices have been converted into a laundromat, and the motel
rooms are of course apartments now, with the first floor accessible from
the parking lot, and the second floor from a balcony that wraps around
the inner edge of the building.

never see the manager around at all. There is a sign here that says:

as soon as possible.

Jay goes into the closet where the TV and VCR are, and flips 'em on.

Jay says, "When was that.. last night..? About six?"

Pinky says, "Yeap."

Kasey says, "Six fifty-two, I remember checking my watch."

Pinky says, "Okay, about 7.:)"

Jay zips back to that time.

Jay views the courtyard camera.

Pinky pushes Jay outta the way and watches.

Jay erfs.

The picture shows a guy leaping to the ground, carrying the pizza box.
He crosses the street and enters the courtyard, putting a cap on over a
tuft of spiky blond hair. Then he goes to 116, hands over the pizza; as
the door closes, he LEAPS straight up and out of frame, presumably to
the 2nd floor balcony or rooftop. Five minutes later, the ambulance is
there.

Pinky says, "Well there's no car to track."

Jay nopes.

Pinky says, "I know who that is."

Pinky says, "It's tekninja."

Jay says, "Oh yeah?"

Kasey says, "Yeah! I thought I recognized him too."

Jay says, "So does this character work alone, or..?"

Pinky says, "He has a few partners."

Pinky says, "Burnheads in jail.."

Pinky says, "Slasher and Rabid mayhaps..."

Kasey says, "So where are they now?"

Pinky says, "Last I knew, New York.."

Jay says, "And the big question is, do they know who you are."

Kasey says, "Yeah."

Pinky says, "I woudn't think so...they did knkow..but Genn whiped there
minds..and Gina nuked there comps."

Kasey says, "Who's to say they couldn't start over, though?"

Kasey says, "Have you been up to much lately back home? I mean, I saw
what I saw on the news, but.. *shrug*"

Jay says, "Yeah.. anything to rile them?"

Pinky says, "Youknow..they might have come out here to get AWAY from me
up there.."

Pinky says, "And Atlanta seems to attracted every wierdo in the world
sooner or later.."

Jay says, "And then just happened to try to send you the poison pill
pizza?"

Kasey says, "It sounds pretty coincidental, Dan.. uh.. Dani okay still?"

Pinky says, "I don't know...it *IS* possible but.."

Pinky pulls at her hair,"GAH! *asided to Kase,"That or Pinky^^"* I'm not
normally on this sdie of the investigation."

Pinky says, "It's o so easy to track them back to there place, comparted
to this anyway."

Kasey nods. "Didn't know if I had to call you "ma'am" now or something."
She smiles. "Anyway.. maybe we should go to New York?"

Pinky says, "I was JUUUST thinking that.."

Pinky says, "I know of a few of there old hide outs that they didn't
think I knew about."

Pinky says, "How quick can youse two pack?"

Jay says, "Ten minutes?"

Kasey nods, "I should probably stop by a 7-11 on the way and grab a
half-dozen bottles of water for my carry-on."

Jay ushers Pinky and Kasey out. "Lemme lock this place up."

Kasey heads outside.

Apartments 102/103(#825RntJ)

	This apartment is different from the others. It seems to
originally have been two apartments, but the center dividing wall has
been knocked out, and now there is one large space where there once was
two. A bit of renovations have gone on inside, too, leaving the place
basically as one large apartment. There are still two closets, one at
each door. The one by the door to 102 holds Jay's coats, jackets,
runners, uniforms, and work boots, while the one closer to 103's door
has Kasey's outerwear and footwear in it. The living room sports a
nice-looking couch, a large-screen TV and high-quality entertainment
center, and a comfortable chair, all arrayed around a smallish coffee
table. The kitchen has the usual, a sink, stove, fridge/freezer, and
microwave, along with some countertop and cupboards. The bedroom is
larger than in most of the single apartments, with a double-size bed
taking up most of the space, flanked by two night tables. The ensuite
bathroom has a sink, shower stall, tub, toilet, and another counter with
a mirror behind it, appears to be used as a makeup table.

	The Tonka Truck, on the inside, looks nothing like the pickup
from which it was born, except for the fact that it has a steering wheel
and several places where people can sit. The dash looks more like an
aircraft, and the seats look like they've been plucked from a racecar,
right down to the five-point harnesses.
